About the Event
*POSTPONED*
Due to poor weather in the forecast, this event has been postponed and rescheduled at a later date.
The Green Lake Conference Center’s history dates back to the early 1800s. Winnebago Indians, Pioneer Settlers, a wealthy Chicago couple, a Chicago development company, American Baptist visionaries and religious leaders of today are all part of this special place. One of the more famous moments in the Conference Center’s history is known as the Lawson Era. Learn about Victor and Jessie Lawson and how they influenced the landscape - from paved roads to unique buildings to several towers - on the Green Team’s historic walking tour!
GEAR TO BRING: Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and clothing to hike in.
PARKING: The Green Lake Conference Center entrance is located at W2511 WI-23, Green Lake, WI 54941. Follow the entrance road (Lawson Drive) all the way to the lake and park in any of the general parking lots (Two near Friendship Beach, and one near Kern Lodge) From there participants will walk to the lobby of the Roger Williams Inn to meet up and begin the tour from there.
