About the Event
Join us at Dakin Creek to help conduct an all-volunteer Redd survey with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Redds are the nests that trout make in streambeds when they reproduce during the fall months. The data from the survey will help us to measure the reproductive progress of brook trout—the species we helped bring back to Dakin Creek after 70 years through stream restoration efforts.
Please RSVP as soon as possible if you are able to attend because we need to cap attendance at this event. Volunteers are asked to wear neutral, drab, or earth tone colors. We will be sneaking up on trout and want to avoid spooking them with flashy colors. Knee boots, hip waders, or chest waders are highly encouraged. Dress for the weather and wear layers! Please bring your own water bottle. Lunch will be provided.
